What to Focus On Next

High Priority

  • Nerve conduction study / EMG — This is the most important missing item for a neuropathy claim. Ask your doctor for a referral to a neurologist.
  • Physician letter describing work limitations — Ask your doctor to write a detailed letter in specific, measurable terms.

Medium Priority

  • Daily symptom and limitation diary — Start keeping a daily log. Even 30 days of consistent tracking makes a difference.
  • Documentation of medication changes — Request a medication history from your pharmacy or doctor's office.

Helpful

  • Hospitalization records — Request from the hospital's medical records department.
  • Comprehensive metabolic panel — Ask your doctor to order at your next visit.
